Curriculum Vita (CV):

Michael Nadler holds the Chair of Real Estate Development at TU Dortmund University which is one of the leading technical universities in Germany with more than 34,000 students. Right now he is the only full professor with a chair in real estate development at a public German University. His research interests are in interdisciplinary real estate development projects (at the juncture to city and regional planning), development appraisal methods and related decision support systems, innovative financial instruments for urban and real estate development investments and big-scale district development projects. He has published several books and approximately 100 articles in books and academic and professional journals. In addition to his university position he has a strong professional background in international research and development projects in the real estate sector and the European policy sector for almost 20 years. He worked as a consultant and project lead for the development of brownfield projects, in the creation of new financial instruments in several banks and organizations like the International Union of Housing Finance Institutions or the United Nations as well as an expert for appraisals or feasibility studies for diverse corporations as well as municipalities and even for the US Army. He has already done five research projects for the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission (DG Regio). Apart from that, I was project leader of two large research projects of the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs and recently also the project lead for the Federal Government of North Rhine Westphalia in developing new financial instruments in the field of real estate and urban investments. Before his recent position at TU Dortmund University Michael Nadler had a professorship at three other German Universities (TU Kaiserslautern: real estate finance and development; HTW Albstadt-Sigmaringen: facility and real estate management; HTWG Konstanz: sustainable building management). He holds a PhD in economics and business administration at the Heinrich-Heine-University (HHU) Duesseldorf and a Diploma in economics and business administration from the University of Cologne.
